Lustre and Nashua Track Teams Compete in Wibaux Invitational

The Lustre Christian High School boys track team claimed ninth place in the Wibaux Invitational track meet and the girls team took 24. The boys earned 24 points, while the girls had 1.5 points. The Nashua Porcupines girls team placed 15, earning 6 points.

Lions Coach Lynn Unrau said her team is working hard and are off to a good start this season. "Missing last year has been hard on everyone but we are rebuilding and making progress," she said. Senior Tiara Whitmus and sophomore Jasiah Hambira have been the top performers for Coach Unrau so far, and she is looking for her younger and newer athletes to show improvement as the season continues.

The Lions hope to improve as the season progresses and are looking to staying competitive in the post-season. "As a team I'd like to see some of the new athletes we have continue to learn and progress," the coach said, "and I look forward to a lot of our athletes placing at the District meet and a few qualifying for the state meet."

Nashua head coach Janice Rorvik was pleased with the meet and the weather. "Competition was tough and our athletes performed well," she said. "We had many personal records made again and a couple of athletes who were just out of ribbons with 7th and 8th places." The Porcupines coach is looking forward to this weekend's event.

Nashua and Lustre track teams will be in Fairview on Friday, April 16 for their next track meet.
