Damien Nesbitt, shown here in a Jan. 16 match, is back with the Glasgow Scottie wrestling team this season. The coaches are looking at the junior and his brother, Devon Nesbitt, to be leaders on the team.
The Glasgow Scottie wrestling team added a few more wins to their record after a trio of events on the road. On Tuesday of last week, the team was in Sidney to take on the Eagles. They traveled to Havre on Friday for a triangular against Ronan and Corvallis where they grappled their way to two solid wins. The team split their duals on Saturday in Big Timber, beating Park/Sweet Grass and losing a tight dual to Laurel.
In Sidney, the team had six wins and 18 losses. Shalynn Pedersen, Colten Fast, Ethan Nickels, Kohl Kittleson and Mayson Phipps had the official wins for the Scotties. Glasgow beat Ronan by a score of 42 to 15 in Havre, led by Damon Adkins, Devon Nesbitt, Fast, Damien Nesbitt, Kyler Hallock, and Phipps. The Glasgow grapplers more than doubled Corvallis' score, taking a 52-42 win. Adkins, Dawson Boland, Mason Donaldson, Devon Nesbitt, and Dylan Nieskens had the wins for the Scotties.
Against Park/Sweet Grass in Big Timber, Glasgow posted a 42-34 win led by Donaldson, Devon Nesbitt, Fast, Damien Nesbitt, Nieskens and Phipps. Glasgow dropped their dual against Laurel, but Devon Nesbitt, Fast, Damien Nesbitt, Nieskens and Phipps won their matches.
The Scotties travel to Glendive Friday, Jan. 29, to take on the Red Devils varsity team and the Sidney Eagles JV team with action beginning at 10 a.m. On Saturday, Jan. 30, the Scotties host Shepherd and Colstrip with the first dual beginning at 2 p.m.
