Bill Stuber

Bill Stuber, 68, of Opheim, Mont., passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020. Upon Bill’s request, there will be no funeral services. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.

Bill was born to Tim and Irene Stuber in Glasgow, Mont., Feb. 23, 1952. He was their anniversary present that year! Bill attended school in Opheim.

He began his working career as a teenager. Bill started out learning automotive mechanic skills and went on to become a master plumber, working many years in construction in Wyoming, Colorado, California, Washington and Alaska. He was a planner and could master just about anything that was put in front of him. If he was ever told he couldn’t do something, he would always figure it out. Bill would always say, “I knew I could do that if I put my mind to it!”

Bill loved recreation and enjoyed camping, hunting, canoeing, snowmobiling and flying. There was nothing he was afraid to try, and he always had the most fun. The biggest thrill he enjoyed was fling, which he learned to do while living in Alaska.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Tim and Irene, and long-time companion Linda Nichols.

He is survived by his brother, Albert (Buster) of Opheim; two sisters, Judy Massengale, of Kennewick, Wash., and Patty Forry of southern Arizona; daughters Dana Meirs, of Missoula, Mont., Tonya and Chrissy of southern California; as well as Linda’s children and grandchildren.
