Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

4th of July Celebration

We are currently working on our second annual Fourth of July celebration fundraiser. This is a three part event held at the fairgrounds.

Part one is a community barbecue that features: hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, chips, brownies, watermelon and drink (free will offering). Serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Details on the serving will be released closer to the holiday due to the Covid-19 virus.

Part two is our auction. We will have both a live and silent auction of items. The auction will be held in the Event Center from 7 -8:30 p.m. (please bring your own lawn chair). If you have items to donate for the auction, please contact Willie Plouffe, Becky Stein or Rod Karst.

Part three is a live talent show. We are looking for participants to perform a song, dance, or whatever your talent is. This part of the event will run from 8:30 to 10 p.m. For more information contact Rod Karst or Dave Pippin.

At the conclusion of this event participants are encouraged to watch the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at the fairgrounds.

A new feature this year will be Red, White and Blue luminaria on the fence at the fairgrounds. Cost of luminaria is $10 and can be purchased in honor or in memory of a loved one. The cost is $10 and forms are available at the Glasgow Chamber Office or BS Central. The luminaria will be lit from July 3 through 5.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Valley County HOPE Project fund to assist Valley County residents with their medical expenses.
