Stone The Right Republican For HD 33

PAID POLITICAL CONTENT

Dear Editor,

I became a registered nurse in 1964. When the opportunity presented itself to bring a nurse's perspective to the Montana House of Representatives, I brought my passion to serve others to the state legislature. To this day, I continue to serve in the medical field.

It has been said that "a nurse is another word to describe a person strong enough to tolerate anything and soft enough to understand anyone." The temperament of a nurse is a character that is truly needed in the Montana House of Representatives. As a former Republican Chair of the Montana Legislature's Health and Human Service Appropriations Subcommittee, I know firsthand what it takes to effectively advocate for our neighbors, families and patients.

For this reason, I am endorsing Joyce Stone, RN, for Montana House District 33. Joyce has the skills, temperament, experience and ability to advocate for the citizens of District 33. That is what nurses do: We advocate for our patients and, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no better person to help shape health policy in Helena than Joyce Stone. As a nurse working in one of our state's 49 critical access hospitals, she understands the lifesaving role hospitals play in our rural communities. As Republican women we also share a common desire to improve the economic conditions of our frontier communities and hold the line on taxes. Strengthening our schools, protecting our agricultural heritage, supporting improved opportunities for our children and helping to grow our local businesses are important to Joyce Stone and all of us who call Montana home. As a ranch owner, I also share her property rights position.

President Ronald Reagan once said, "While I take inspiration from the past, like most Americans, I live for the future." Both President Reagan and Joyce Stone share the same vision for a brighter future in Montana. Joyce Stone is not only a nurse and a patient advocate, she will stand in the gap for the members of House District 33. I endorse her and encourage you to vote for Joyce Stone in the Republican primary.

Sincerely,

Edith Clark, RN
