Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

COVID-19 Pandemic Public Information

Dear Glasgow Residents,

As this public health crisis continues to develop, we are facing unprecedented challenges managing the situation and I want the public to know that the City of Glasgow is committed to the health and wellbeing of our residents and employees. Glasgow is still committed to ensuing that the city provides all essential services while practicing social distancing and upholding other federal, state and local stakeholder health guidelines and directives.

A critical component of our safety policy is following the directives of Dr. Anne Millard, the Valley County Health Authority. The directives issued by the Valley County Health Authority and Valley County Health Department are put in place to not only ensure our safety, but also the safety of others traveling to or coming into our community to work.

You may have noticed that there a number of construction projects being worked on in and around town. There are several, from the well known TC Energy Pipeline to the Glasgow Water Improvement Project and other less publicized projects such as a sidewalk/transportation project.

These projects are listed under the federal Department of Homeland Security guidelines as ‘essential service contractors.' As such, these companies have been required to submit Coronavirus or COVID-19 Health Plans that require implementing enhanced safety practices including but not limited to social distancing, proactive health practices and quarantine requirements. While only a couple of the mentioned projects are city related, they are important to us and we are monitoring them.

I have issued Employee Directives to city departments which support all Valley County Health Department and Valley County Health Authority requirements and directives. Therefore, all city employees and essential service contractors for the city must follow the same social distancing and quarantine requirements that all other Valley County and City of Glasgow citizens are required to meet. City departments that provide essential services are in operation and staffed appropriately with rotating shifts to limit employee exposure. Non-essential city departments have been temporarily closed for business.

City offices are currently closed to the public, however business is being conducted. If you have questions, phone calls are welcome. We encourage you to call and please leave a message if no one can answer at the time of your call. All phone messages will be returned. Appointments, if necessary, can be scheduled as needed.

Thank you,

Mayor Becky Erickson
