State Auditor Hosting Glasgow Financial and Investment Workshop

Matt Rosendale, Deputy Securities Commissioner Lynne Egan, and other staff from the State Auditor’s office are hosting an event called Money Matters for Montana Women in Glasgow Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Cottonwood Inn starting at 6:30 p.m.

This will be a financial and investment education workshop geared toward women (although the event is open to everyone). More women are playing bigger and bigger roles in the financial decisions and earnings of households, and many could be in a position to start, buy, or grow small businesses as current owners retire. Businesses shutting down because current owners can’t find someone to take over is a growing concern for rural Montana.

Money Matters for Montana Women aims to give women the knowledge they need to make good financial decisions and take responsible risks (like starting or buying a business). The program will cover a variety of financial topics, from savings and investments to Social Security to business opportunities.

Money Matters for Montana Women is a free event that is open to the public. It’s cosponsored and paid for by the Investor Protection Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to investor education.
