Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Glasgow's Valley Bank to Become Bank of Glasgow in October

Bank of Bridger, N.A.’s parent bank-holding company, The Bridger Company, has recently acquired Malta Banquo, Inc., and its entirely-owned subsidiaries, which includes Valley Bank in Glasgow and First Security Bank in Malta.

Starting Monday, Oct. 7, Valley Bank in Glasgow will be changing its name to Bank of Glasgow and First Security Bank in Malta will be changing its name to Bank of Malta. Customers and the community won’t see any big changes to the building or staff due to the change in ownership, but will see changes in products and services in the future.

“We are excited to expand our footprint in the agriculturally based communities of Malta and Glasgow,” remarked CEO of Bank of Bridger, N.A. Bart Langemeier. “Our expertise in ranching and farming will pair well with the existing customer base. In addition, we will bring technology enhancements, increased lending capabilities, more products and services and an expanded lending area. We believe in investing in all the communities we serve and strive to provide quality banking services to meet our customers’ needs.”

According to a press release, Bank of Bridger, N.A. was originally chartered on May 1, 1906, under The First National Bank of Lovell. Several name changes and ownerships later, the current owners purchased the holding company in 1986 and ownership remains the same today. They have a commitment to community which is reflected in the names of each of their locations. Each one is named for the towns they serve. In Montana there are six other locations including Bridger, Butte, Harlem, Joliet, Plentywood and Red Lodge and four locations in Wyoming, Greybull, Lovell, Powell and Thermopolis.
