Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Margaret 'Peggy' E. Pattison

Margaret "Peggy" E. (Donovan) Pattison, 98, passed away Monday May 27, 2019, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.

She was born in Cohoes, N.Y., Oct. 21, 1920, to William and Ruth (Hartley) Donovan. She was destined to leave the East Coast when she met a handsome young Army officer, Bill Pattison from Glasgow.

After a variety of assignments in the east, southeast and the birth of their daughter, Karen, in Austin, Texas, they made their way home to Glasgow.

Peggy did substitute teaching and bookkeeping for Pattison Implement and Motors. She loved to knit and sew right up until the time of her death. She was an avid reader, loved watching the birds at her bird feeder, but most of all she enjoyed her family and friends. She and Bill enjoyed traveling to see their first grandchild in Seattle, then Anchorage. Their travels took them to the four corners of the world: Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and China. Their souvenirs were always large pieces of art that cover the walls of their home and stacked in closets.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bob) Mathis, of Portland, Ore .; grandchildren, Tyler Mathis and his wife Lesli Mathis, of San Diego; and his sister, Alissa Mathis, of Las Vegas, Nev .; and many Pattison sisters and brothers -in-law, nieces and nephews.

Rosary was said 7 p.m., Thursday, May 30, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, in Glasgow. Funeral mass was 11 a.m., Friday, May 31, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church with Celebrant Father Terry Regan officiating.

Private burial was held in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.
