The Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery (WAG) is expanding its horizons, its artist horizons, that is. A longtime friend of WAG owner Mary Fahlgren, Ann Patterson Bishop has agreed to show her extensively known art work during the month of May. Please join us on Friday, May 3, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery, 523 2nd St. So. for an artist's reception.

Unfortunately, Patterson Bishop will not be able to be present at her reception but you can "Visit the Artist" and even check out her studio on Birds & Beasleys' by following the link: http://www.birdsandbeasleys.com/news-updates/visit-the-artist-ann-patterson-bishop-portrait-2018-11-2579. In addition to her artwork being showcased at the gallery, more of her artwork can also be viewed at annpbishopart.com.

Patterson Bishop is an amazing animal portrait artist known and admired for her painterly style and charismatic animal portraits. Her paintings depict the rich inner lives of her subjects. Patterson Bishop started life collecting and drawing every animal she could get her hands on. Following up with a lifetime devotion to animals, she became an illustrator with the Bureau of Land Management and has been the illustrator/graphic designer for newspapers in Lewistown, Helena, MSU's paper in Bozeman and the Independent Record in Helena.

She achieved her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002 and has studied with Harold Schlhaur and Rick Pope. Her talents range in all media including bronze sculpture, even working at Northwest Art Casting in Bozeman. Now she devotes all her time to the creation of art.

Places representing Patterson Bishop's art are Mountain Sage Gallery and Birds & Beasleys, in Helena, Latigo & Lace, in Augusta, Mont., Waterworks, in Miles City, and Lark Art in Sedona, Ariz. Her artwork has also been shown as a One Man Show at the Holter Museum of Art and Icons of the West at the Dana Museum. She has also received Best of Show: PSRM.
