Lady Golfers See Early Success on the Greens, Boys Improve

The Scottie golfers were finally able to compete in their first meet at the Poplar Invitational held in Wolf Point on April 16.

Lexie Pehlke led the girls to a second-place finish with her score of 100, followed by Alexus Nistler in eighth place with a 103.

Shanice Lagerquist finished with a 110, Bailee Baxter with a 120, and Kylie Lagerquist with a 133.

Donny Brabeck led the boys with his 105 score, although they fell out of the running for placing .Ian Peterson finished with a 129, Dillon Godwin with a 135 and Zach Kompel with 137.

Both teams saw marked improvement just days later when they were back in Wolf Point for the Wolf Point Invitational on April 18.

The Scottie girls snagged the top spot with 418 points, led again by Pehlke with a final score of 87. Nistler finished with a tie for sixth and seventh place with her score of 104. S. Lagerquist scored a 110 for eighth place and Baxter rounded out the top ten with her score of 117. K. Lagerquist finished with a score of 130.

For the Scottie boys, Peterson led the way with his eighth place score of 104 and Oden Hallock secured ninth place with a 105. Saul Hansen finished the day with a 111 and Brabeck hit a 113.

The Scotties are hosting their home invitational this Friday, April 26, at Sunnyside Golf Course.
