Valley County Clean Sweep is Near: Get Involved

Two Rivers Economic Growth encourages all members of Valley County to get involved by cleaning up our communities. Join Valley County ‘Clean Sweep’ on Monday, April 22, as individuals, businesses, groups and organizations come together to make lasting impacts throughout the communities of, but not limited to, Glasgow, Fort Peck, Nashua, Hinsdale, Saint Marie and Opheim.

Current confirmed participants include: T&R Trucking/Thompson & Sons, Glasgow East Side School, FMDH, Cottonwood Inn, Subway, Pizza Hut, Eugene’s Pizza, Loaded Toad, Soma-Dis Deli and many other individuals.

Here are some fun and easy ways you, your businesses and friends can get involved during Valley County Clean Sweep:

Form a group willing to clean up a public area in need.

Plan for your employees to spruce up the outside property or plan any outdoor maintenance already needed on this day.

Join a group. All community members are invited to help and get involved. Call 263-4769.

Pick up loose garbage.

Help a neighbor with their yard.

Rake up leaves.

Sweep up sidewalks.

Till or prep for a garden.

Mow the lawn.

Trim hedges.

Dispose of branches or other large eyesores.

Weed whack where needed.

Consider recycling if you can.

Donate supplies to the cause. We will need rakes, brooms, gloves, bags and sun screen.

Tell your friends; help spread the word.

Donated cleanup supplies and a map of designated cleanup areas will be available on April 22 at the Two Rivers/Chamber office between Verizon and Northwest Farm Credit on Highway 2, Glasgow. T&R Trucking is joining our efforts by providing designated garbage drop off points near each target cleanup’ site. All donations of supplies and help are appreciated.

Would you, your business or group like to ‘clean up’ a public location? Is there an area you’d like to see spruced up? Please join in our efforts in making Valley County the place to live, work and play. Call 406-263-4769 or 406-230-1426 to get involved.

For more information visit the Facebook event ‘Valley County Cleanup Day’ or email [email protected]. By working together, we can make a difference in our communities.
