Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Valley View Home Dietary Manager Receives Esteemed State Award

The dietary manager for Valley View Home, Carmen “Cammi” Simpson, was recently awarded the 2018 Ancillary Services Award provided by the Montana Health Care Association for her work at the facility. This award is prestigious in that only one award is given for each department in the state and the Montana Health Care Association chooses award winners based upon a nomination process.

Simpson has been working at the facility since 2016, first starting off as a cook for a very brief time and then decided to step into the dietary manager role. She had worked as a cook in previous jobs, however did not have any management experience. Even though she stepped up to better her career and the home, she was nervous to say the least to take on this new challenge.

She knew she was committed to Valley View and wanted to do everything she could to make sure the dietary needs of the residents were met while also creating a high quality dietary team. After stepping into the role, she has sustained a higher level than standard for customer satisfaction in a timely manner, surpassing the norm.

According to VVH Administrator Wes Thompson, Simpson works on average 230 hours a month, and that’s an average number as usually the number of hours worked is more due to current staffing levels. In addition to being a dietary manager she is very active in Resident Care Plan meetings and is frequently spotted visiting residents one-on-one on her breaks. “Valley View Home has never been so lucky to have this particular manager on staff,” stated Thompson. "Her attitude, while working day and night, have set an example for department managers to abide by.”
