Let's Bake Artisan Bread

MSU Extension Agent Roubie Younkin will host an evening of bread making Tuesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Valley County Courthouse.

Whether you have only aspired to bake bread or have baked your way through numerous recipes, anyone can bring the comfort and warmth of fresh bread into their kitchen. Making bread at home always seems like a daunting task. It’s a huge investment of time and energy, which usually pays off in the end, unless something goes awry during the process.

Learn to make super easy and effortless no-knead extra crusty artisan bread using a four-ingredient recipe that you probably already have in your pantry. The course will explain the details of mixing, fermenting, shaping, and baking bread, baker’s math, ingredient selection and function, how mixing affects fermentation and other bread baking fundamentals.

There will be a $5 fee to cover the cost of ingredients. Please call the Valley County Extension Office, 228-6241 to pre-register or if you would like more information.
