Chevy Boos executes a layup during the Scottie's Dec. 14 game vs. North Country.
The Scottie boys earned a win against the disciplined North Country Mavericks on Dec. 14 at GHS, defeating the Class C opponents 45-39. Kobe Sibley led the way for Glasgow with 13 points, followed by Alec Boland with 10. Defensively, Chevy Boos and Tim Wageman pulled the most rebounds off the boards with Boos grabbing eight and Wageman finishing with seven in the game.
In another non-conference game against Class A Sidney, the Scotties struggled to defend against the Eagles' clutch player, Bridger Larson, who finished with 31 points on the board. Boland led the score for Glasgow with 10 points.
Head coach Norm Braaten said they came away from the games with some positive things. "Some of the younger kids were able to get in and play," he explained. "Some of them will have to step up and fill in," he said, pointing out that Brett Glaser was favoring his knees a bit and Sibley was nursing an ankle.
He expects the upcoming games vs. Glendive and Poplar to be some good competition. "They've got a big kid on Glendive's team that we'll have to deal with and Poplar got some good kids back this year too."
The Scotties will take on the Glendive Red Devils at home on Thursday, Dec. 20, then will be on the road to Poplar on Saturday, Dec. 22. C-squad games begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
