Ice Dawgs Pick Up One Win Out of Four in Two Weekends

The High School Ice Dawgs have been on the road for their first two weekends of hockey games. Nov. 17 and 18, they were in Whitefish for two games against the Flathead Flames. Glasgow prevailed over the Flames in the first game, 4-3, but struggled to defend their net in the second game and allowed the Flames to score seven goals to their one goal.

Ike Braaten and Kaden Fossum split the goals in the first game with Fossum scoring one assisted by Britt Fairclough and another unassisted. Braaten scored twice in the second period with assists going to Colter Barnett and Garrett Lloyd.

Kristian Price spent the most time in the penalty box with two minor penalties and a ten-minute misconduct penalty for charging.

Colton Pewitt finished the game in the net with a solid 38 saves.

In the second game of the weekend, Braaten scored the only goal of the game for Glasgow with the assist going to Fossum, who also spent the most time in the penalty box for the Ice Dawgs. Despite 41 saves in the net, Pewitt took the loss for Glasgow. He finished the weekend with 79 saves total.

This past weekend, the Ice Dawgs traveled to Havre to face the Ice Hawks in two games. Both games were held Nov. 24, and resulted in losses for the Ice Dawgs.

Fairclough made the most noise during the first of the two games, which ended with Havre on top 9-5. While he was able to light up the scoreboard twice for Glasgow, he also earned his fair share of discipline with 28 total minutes of penalties recorded. Pewitt had another good showing between the pipes with 33 saves.

The Ice Dawgs were able to deny more goals in the second game, allowing Havre to score just five total, but could not muster up enough offense to pull ahead for a win. The game ended with the Ice Hawks on top 5-3. Pewitt had another 27 saves in the net for a weekend total of 60.
