Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Hinsdale Fall Festival

The Hinsdale Fall Festival was held on Sunday, Oct. 7. Events of the festival included vendors, games, activities and fundraisers, such as the pumpkin bowling featured above. Beginning a few years ago, the event is organized and designed by Hinsdale residents to support and help local families in need. Each year in October Hinsdale comes to life with fall festivities that highlight the town's fun sense of community and support for one another.

As Kristine Bowman wrote in the Courier on Sept. 26, " The original purpose of the contests was to raise money in support of a specific cause. Often these causes were unadvertised, as we felt they were personal and sometimes done as an unexpected blessing for the recipient(s). In five years, we have given to four families to help with medical costs or the expenses incurred after a loved one was lost We have donated to the Hinsdale School library, in hopes of making it more inviting and user-friendly. Finally, we replaced the splintering tables and benches in Hinsdale's Legion Park. All of these were well received and went to good use."
