Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Valley County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

The Valley County Farm Bureau will hold their annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 24, at the Cottonwood Inn. A no-host social will start at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner at 6:30 p.m., compliments of Valley County Farm Bureau.

There will be a short meeting with entertainment to follow by Margaret Wilhelm. Wilhelm is a cowboy poet who has lived for more than 40 years on a cattle ranch near White Sulphur Springs, where she and her husband, Gary, raised angus cattle and two daughters. She has written poetry most of her life and draws her inspiration from everyday events on the ranch or from neighbors and local history. Wilhelm’s friends say she sees the world from a very different viewpoint (twisted, according to her) but sees humor in almost everything. She feels that people don’t laugh enough and take themselves entirely too seriously. Some of her poems like her tribute to her washing machine or the trials of pulling out stuck or stalled vehicles are typical examples. She has performed poetry at the Montana Cowboy Poetry gathering in Lewistown as well as several venues in North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Canada and throughout Montana.

To ensure an accurate food count, please RSVP by Friday, Sept. 21, to 406-392-5321 or 406-392-7788.
