USS Montana Committee to Visit

Bill Whitesitt, member of the USS Montana Commissioning Committee, will be presenting on the USS Montana Wednesday, Sept. 5, starting at noon at the Cottonwood Inn. The presentation will discuss the boat, including capabilities, construction and crew progress and the legacy of the first and only completed USS Montana. The original USS Montana was an armored cruiser that played a role during the Mexican Revolution and convoy duty through WWI.

The new USS Montana is currently under construction and is expected to be commissioned in late 2019 or 2020. This Navy ship will be the second ship with this name, the last being a WWII destroyer.

The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
