Roy L. Keough

Roy L. Keough, 83, passed away due to natural causes on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Northern Montana Care Center.

Cremation has taken place, and at Roy's wishes, no services will be held at this time.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1934, in Opheim, Mont., to Clarence and Bernice (Stowell) Keough. He was raised on the family farm outside of Opheim, attending school through the eighth-grade. After eighth-grade, he left school to work on the family farm. He married Harriet Rennick on Sept. 17, 1955, in Glasgow, and the couple moved to Havre, Mont., where they spent the past 63 years. The couple had three children, and Roy worked diligently for the city of Havre until his retirement in 1989. Apparently retirement didn't take well, because he soon began working for Prince Inc. of Forsyth, Mont., where he remained for the next 15 years, retiring in 2004.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and working on engines. In more recent years, he enjoyed coffee at PJs, camping and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles with Harriet. The couple also made many trips to Glacier. He was quite the Mr. Fix-it and could be called upon to help at any given time. He was a quiet, but very laid-back man who didn't get angry very often. He will be missed by all his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his young son Tommy Keough; parents, Clarence and Bernice Keough; and three sisters, Sharon Keough, Velva Sharp and Louise Robbins.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Harriet Keough of Havre; two children, Gwenda (Thomas) Gehlen of Lewistown and Leroy Keough of Havre; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six siblings, Ila Hensler of Missoula, Mavis Robbins of Cut Bank, Bert (Connie) Keough of Glasgow, Earl Keough of Plentywood, and Gerald and Bob Keough of Glasgow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family has suggested that memorial donations be made in Roy's name to a charity of the donor's choice.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
