Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Voters of Valley County vote no on designating public funds for Valley View. With the monies that Valley View has invested in Prairie Ridge and proper management, it can be successful.

FMDH owns Prairie Ridge and Prairie Ridge is losing money. Between FMDH, Prairie Ridge and Valley View, the responsibility lies to keep Valley View solvent.

Public monies for private enterprise eliminates the need to address the issues financially and otherwise that have threatened Valley View’s solvency. This rush for public monies is an abnormal attempt to engage the public in emotional blackmail.

When public funds were invested, as they suggest, it has led to the dropping in number of beds and an increase in administrative help. Not all taxpayers are residents in Valley County, and thereby have no vote.

Taxpayers, don’t be fooled. Do not allow yourselves to be treated as the proverbial “Cash Cow” stalled up at tax time for another milking to support the whims of the social elitists pushing this agenda. If you are like me, you are already at the break-even point for paying taxes now. This will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

FMDH, Prairie Ridge and Valley View Home step up to the plate, identify your issues and solve them without my taxes.

PS. It is overly simplistic to blame Medicaid co-pay for your problems. Where are your documentations, audit reports or otherwise?
