Ray Brandt

Ray Brandt, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont., after a three-year battle with cancer.

Funeral arrangements will be set for later this spring.

He was born to Herb and Luella Brandt Sept. 19, 1935, in Scobey. He lived on the family ranch south of Peerless for most of his life. He married Mona Eayrs on June 7, 1967, in the Peerless Lutheran Church. They raised two sons, Herb and Shayne (Chanda).

His love of horses carried through his whole life. He built many buggies, wagons, a stage coach and even a mini wagon for his daughter-in-law. He went on every wagon train and trail ride he could. He was a livestock leader for the 4-H kids and a brand inspector for many years. If anyone needed help with livestock, he would give them a hand. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Luella Brandt; and three sisters, Myrtle Nygaard (Chet), Bernice Meldrum (Gene), and Verna.

Survivors include his wife, Mona; two sons, Herb and Shayne and his wife Chanda; five siblings, Walt Brant and his wife, Cessy, Floyd Brandt and his wife, Bev, Alice Drury and her husband, Kent, Inez Kegel and her husband, George, and Ardith Kegel and her husband, Larry.
