Eugene "Al" Martin

Eugene "Al" Martin, 85, of Glasgow, Mont. passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Valley View Home.

A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church with celebrant Father Jose Villiparambil. Inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery following the service. A luncheon will be held at the St. Raphael's Parish Center following inurnment.

He was born May 17, 1932, the oldest of two sons to Mary Emma (Falcon) and Albert Martin in Trenton, N.D. His first 10 years of school was in Trenton and then he went to Williston High School, where he graduated.

He married Alpha Overstreet on June 6, 1952 at St. John's Catholic Church in Trenton, N.D. To this union was born seven children.

He played American Legion Baseball when he was young, he raced cars and go-carts and won many trophies. He worked as a Brakeman-Conductor on the railroad for 35 years. He built a cabin at the Pines Recreation Area and the family enjoyed their time spent there over the years. He had a large H.O. Train Collection, many of which he built himself.

Since his retirement, Al and Alpha have spent 22 years traveling to Yuma, Ariz. in the wintertime. During his time in Yuma, he took up wood carving classes through the local college. He became a very good woodcarver and we have enjoyed his many creations.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother Ralph Martin and his great-granddaughter Victoria Martin.

He is survived by his wife Alpha; children Twila Martin, Tracy Arnold and her husband Ralph, Terri Peterschick and her husband Tony, Teddi Shorten and her husband Brent, Randy and his wife Lisa, Tamara Teitelbaum and Tina Daggett and her husband Mike; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchilren.
