Area Youth Create Crafts for Christmas Season

Local artist Brianna Overbey is bringing a series of art classes to children of the community, thanks to proceeds from the “Walking in Memphis” event held on Nov. 10. With her business, A Lot Like Love, she will be providing a class free of charge to area children and young adults to make gifts for themselves or to gift to a loved one this holiday season.

The first class of the series will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Table for Six, 130 5th St. S., Glasgow. As the Christmas holiday is quickly approaching, participants will be making a pine cone Christmas tree, utilizing a variety of different art techniques and supplies.

The class is limited to those ages two to 18, and to a total of 20 people. Those interested can register at 5th Ave. Pharmacy by calling 228-3692 or stop by at 621 3rd Street. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult, due to the nature and equipment used for the craft. If you are planning on accompanying your child and do not plan on participating in the craft, you do not need to register. Overbey asks those who are registered to show up on time, as this is a time consuming class. The craft is anticipated to take at least one hour but can take up to two hours, so please plan accordingly when signing up.

Overbey is grateful for this opportunity to provide art classes in the near future to area youth.“Thank you all for supporting this amazing community and allowing me to be a part of your Christmas season!,” said Overbey.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact Overbey by calling or texting at 406-861-4119.
