The Squirt Ice Dawgs hit the road to Helena Nov. 18 and 19, and claimed two wins. While the first game against the Bighorns was a runaway for Glasgow (17-0), the second game was much more balanced (5-2).

Jacob Potter earned a shut-out with Glasgow's first win against the Bighorns, stopping 10 of 10 attempts on his net. The Ice Dawgs took more shots at their opponent's net, scoring 17 of their 39 attempts. Leading the way in scoring was Bode Barnett with six goals. Also, hitting the back of the net were Brody Hansen and Charlie Cornwell with a hat trick each, John Cornwell with two goals, and Kimber Dulaney, Tavin Boland and Gryffen Collins finishing things off with one goal each. Recording assists for their team were Boland with three, and J. Cornwell, Halle Hunter, Dulaney and Barnett each with one. Penalties were minimal with just one for each team during the game.

In the second game, the Bighorns played a consistent, steady game that gassed out the short Ice Dawg bench and slowed the scoring success they saw the previous day. "I had to take a time out to reel the kids back in a bit," explained head coach Mike Hunter. "Helena did an exceptional job of making adjustments to their game plan and they tired us out."

Despite that, Hunter said his team did a good job of working together and moving the puck around. "We try to involve everyone in the play and work on seeing the whole ice – not just focus on the net." he explained.

Contributing to the score on Sunday were Barnett with one, Hansen with one, and C. Cornwell with a hat trick. It was another clean game with just one minor infraction for each team. Potter finished with 15 saves.

Hunter was especially pleased with the demeanor of his team. "They really are a dynamite group of kids," he said. "They were exceptionally respectful to the Helena team during our first game. There was no excessive celebrating or anything like that."

The Squirts will take Thanksgiving weekend off, but will be headed to Billings the next weekend for games.
