Darlene Chapman

Sadie (nee Darlene Kuki) Chapman, 77, died in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017.

She was born in Glasgow on June 21, 1940. Known by her friends as Dolly or Dee, she was raised on the South Bench of Hinsdale and attended a rural school there one year and then Hinsdale Public Schools, graduating as one of 11 seniors in 1958. Her parents, both deceased, were Enoch and Alice (Robuck) Kuki.

She began her training as a nurse in the WAC. She later attended college to become a computer programmer, continuing her career working with NASA, Michigan Tank Command and retired as a postal worker in Lukin, Texas. In order to be closer to her two older children in her declining health, she moved to El Paso in 2014.

Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Chapman; one sister, Mildred Radcliffe; one daughter, Bonnita Price; and a grand-and great-granddaughter.

Survivors include her brother, Rudy Kuki, and his wife, Karen, of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Myrna Kuki, of Spokane; three children Bryan Foss, Bonnie Foss and Nancy Bonar and her husband, Ron; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest with her husband in a private family service later.
