Calendar of Upcoming Events in the Area

WEDNESDAY – NOV. 1

2-3 p.m. - Adults (over the age of 18) who are providing full or part-time care to another adult who has a chronic illness or disability are invited to attend a Caregiver Support Group meeting at the Valley County Senior Citizen Center at 328 4th Street South in Glasgow. Meetings scheduled the first Wednesday of every month.

5:30 – 6 :45 p.m. - Adults Only Open Skating at the Valley Event Center. Cost is $2 to skate and $2 to rent. Lessons are free.

THURSDAY – NOV. 2

9:30 a.m. - The Nashua Community is invited to the Ladies’ Coffee Hour every Thursday at the Nashua Senior Center.

2 p.m. - Valley County Transportation Advisory Committee meets at Senior Citizen Center in Glasgow. The general public and anyone interested in transportation in our county is invited.

7 – 8 p.m. - Grief Support Group, GriefShare, at the Glasgow Evangelical Church every Thursday through Dec. 21. Call the church office at 228-2755 with any questions.

FRIDAY – NOV. 3

2:30 p.m. - Valley View Home Annual Harvest Festival in the Valley View dining room.

5:30 – 7:30 p.m. - November Artist of the Month at Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery. This month’s artist is Glenice Honrud of Opheim.

7 – 10 p.m. - Bingo at the Glasgow Senior Citizens Center. Quarter a card or five cards for a dollar.

SATURDAY – NOV. 4

7 – 10 a.m. - Breakfast at the Senior Citizen’s Center. The cost is between $5 and $7.50. Everyone is welcome.

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Autumn Harvest Bazaar at Glasgow Civic Center. Home-based businesses to handcrafted items. More info, Joan Burris 263-8985.

Noon – Try Hockey for Free Clinic at the Valley Event Center – Valley Cinema will offer a free screening of “The Mighty Ducks” at Valley Cinema starting at noon as well as adult only hockey at the VEC starting at noon. Youth ages 4-9 are encouraged to experience ice hockey and learn basic skills at 2 p.m. with a free pizza party following. To participate, register at tryhockeyforfree.com. Noon – The Northeast MT Land and Mineral Owners Assoc. 43rd Annual Meeting at the Community Center in Froid. Lunch served at noon, meeting begins at 1 p.m.

6 p.m. - FMDH Foundation’s “Denim and Diamonds” Party at the Cottonwood. No-host Social Hour at 6 p.m., with hors d’oeuvres served at 6:30 p.m.

SUNDAY – NOV. 5

2 p.m. - Pinochle every 1st and 3rd Sunday at the Glasgow Senior Center. Everyone welcome.

TUESDAY – NOV. 7

6:30 p.m. - The Nashua Lions meet on the first Tuesday of each month at the Nashua Senior Citizens’ Center. New members are always welcome.

WEDNESDAY – NOV. 8

1 p.m. - Foot care the second Wednesday of the month at Nashua Senior Center. Sign up by calling the center, 746-3370, or Shirley Ersland, 746-3384.

1:30 p.m. & 7 p.m. - Long-term care ombudsman Glenna Chapman presents “Navigating the Uncharted Journey” at the Valley County Senior Citizen Center.
