Agencies Combine Efforts During Fair

Glasgow Police Department and the Valley County Sheriff’s Office will join forces again this year during the Northeast Montana Fair. The combined efforts of these two agencies will be to saturate the area in hopes of deterring underage drinking by limiting the opportunity and the acceptance during the fair’s activities. Officers will also patrol special events during the fair and have DUI patrols around Glasgow.

These agencies will have a consistent daytime presence at the fairgrounds as the Valley County Sheriff’s Office will maintain an office on the grounds. The Glasgow Police Department has joined their CARE Coalition partners in a booth under the grandstands. Those attending the fair will be able to learn about safety and education issues these organizations are currently involved in.

Law enforcement would like all fairgoers to be mindful of the heat and to remain hydrated. They also would like to remind everyone of fire risks brought on by the extremely dry conditions, and to not discharge fireworks or make campfires.
