Gertrude Eliason

Gertrude (Stolen) Eliason, 86, of Opheim, Mont., passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Billings, Mont.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bell Mortuary at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, followed by lunch at the VFW Post in Glasgow.

She married Glenn Eliason on Feb. 15, 1958, and raised two children, JoLane and Andy, in Opheim. A few years after Glenn passed away, she moved into the Nemont Manor and lived there until September 2016.

She loved to crochet, cook and never missed a Bingo game. She also loved watching the Chicago Cubs' baseball games. She spent most summers out east of Opheim tending to her large garden at the farm and making sure that Glenn, LeRoy and Hollis had a nice lunch out in the field. She worked three part-time jobs, Woolworths, JC Penney and at Nemont Manor.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Andrew Stolen; her mom, Elizabeth Stolen; and her husband, Glenn Eliason.

She is survived by one brother, Andy Stolen, who now lives at Daniels Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Scobey; one daughter, JoLane Banick of Waikoloa, Hawaii; one son, Andy Eliason from Glasgow; two granddaughters, Janelle Cameron from Portland, Ore., and Tamara Heiden from Los Angeles, Calif .; along with three great-grandchildren, Ethan Heiden, Lucy Cameron and Hudson Cameron.
