Calendar of Upcoming Events in the Area

THURSDAY – APRIL 13

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. - Commodities will be distributed at the Glasgow Senior Center.

7 p.m. - ‘Lives Touched by Jesus’ Lenten Services at First Lutheran Church, Glasgow. Maundy Thursday, the service will include Sydney Hayward portraying Mary, Mother of Jesus with special music by the senior choir.

7 p.m. - American Legion Post 41 and VFW Post 3107 will present Vietnam 50th Anniversary Pins to all Vietnam era veterans at the Glasgow VFW. All Vietnam era veterans, whether they served in country or not, are invited to receive this pin. Come early and have a bowl of chili and visit with your fellow veterans. Chili will be served from 6–7 p.m. VFW members are invited to stay for the regular VFW meeting which will follow the presentations.

GOOD FRIDAY - APRIL 14

ENTRY DEADLINE to enter the “We’ve Got Talent” Show sponsored by the Nashua Lions Club.

Noon – The Nashua Senior Citizens will have their regular monthly meeting at the Center with a Pot Luck meal at noon. Everyone is welcome.

5:30 p.m. - “The Passion of Our Lord According to Matthew” at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow. Special music by the senior choir.

7 p.m. - Come celebrate Dr. Anne Millard Bradley’s 50th Birthday at The Wood Lounge at the Cottonwood Inn.

SATURDAY – APRIL 15

The Valley County Rifle/Pistol Club first shoot will be held Saturday, April 15, and will be a Lever Gun Match. Mike Otterberg is the rifle shoot coordinator.

10-11:30 a.m. - Rabies Clinic at the Firehall in Fort Peck, hosted by Valley Veterinary Clinic. All other rabies clinics are to be announced.

11 a.m. - The Annual Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt at Hoyt Park by the swimming pool. This is for ages 1-3, 4-5, and 6-8. This event is also sponsored by Reynolds Market and FMDH. For more information, contact Lisa at 228-2222.

11 a.m. - The Opheim Northern Lights 4-H Club Easter egg hunt at the Opheim Park for children in the sixth grade and younger. If weather is poor, it will be held at the school.

5–8 p.m. - St. Marie Fire Department training. Questions? Call Chief Rob Esaias at 524-8113.

EASTER SUNDAY

SUNDAY – APRIL 16

8 a.m. - Easter Breakfast served at the Opheim Community Church with the Easter Service to follow at 9 a.m.

9:30 a.m. - Easter Sunday worship at First Lutheran Church, Glasgow, will include “The Passion of Our Lord According to Matthew.”

12 Noon – Easter Mass at The Holy Family Catholic Church, Glentana.

2 p.m. - Pinochle Sunday at the Glasgow Senior Center. Everyone welcome.

6 p.m. - Easter Service at The New Life Church, Opheim.

MONDAY – APRIL 17

Master Gardner level one classes at Fort Peck Interpretive Center every Monday night through May 22. To pre-register or more info, call 406-228-6241, or [email protected].

TUESDAY – APRIL 18

There will be a chili contest held in conjunction with the Spring Concert. The chili contest will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Nashua School gym and the concert is at 6:30 p.m.

7-8 p.m. - Ladies’ Bible Study at 195 Cedar Circle in St. Marie. Questions, please call Sherry at 524-7368.

Noon - The Fort Peck Senior Citizens’ quarterly meeting and potluck at the Fish Hatchery.
