Mystery Animals Coming to Glasgow

Executive director of ZooMontana (Billings) Jeff Ewelt and his staff will be bringing live animals to Glasgow on March 22. To keep the community and children surprised, the type and number of animals are being kept under wraps until they make their grand appearance.

Ewelt and his staff will visit and meet with Irle elementary students grades kindergarten through third. In the evening, they will present to the public at the Children's Museum starting at 5:30 p.m. According to Glasgow High School student council president Benji Phillips, since funds were raised by the GHS student council, the presentation will be free to the public.

Ewelt was a keynote speaker at the State Student Council Convention last fall where he brought a live spider. The students attending the presentation thoroughly enjoyed it and the GHS student council thought it would be a great opportunity for younger children in the community. In order to raise funds for Ewelt and his staff to come, the GHS student council sold concessions at the recent Northern B Divisional Girls' basketball tournament. The fundraiser was a success, as they raised approximately $970, and the remaining funds needed were allocated out of the GHS Student Council fund.

For more information regarding Ewelt and his staff coming to Glasgow you can contact Rachel Erickson at Irle School 228-2419 or any GHS student council member at 228-2485.
