Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Morris, Billingsley Represent GHS at State Speech and Drama

The Glasgow Speech and Drama team traveled to Havre Jan. 27 and 28 for the state meet, which was hosted by Chinook. At the meet, senior Maria Morris competed in Dramatic Oral Interpretation, and sophomore Jordan Billingsley competed in Impromptu. Alternates Reece Hunsely and Jrake Gutow traveled with the team, but did not have the opportunity to compete.

After four opening rounds, Billingsley finished in 13th place, and Morris continued on to the semi-final round. While Morris did not advance to finals, she did tie for 9th place overall in the state.

Coaches Suzanne Flint and Maureen Leech are extremely proud of the team, especially Morris and Billingsley. According to the coaches, Billingsley's first year in speech and drama was a rousing success and they are confident he will do well in the future. Morris had an outstanding season and proved that hard work and enthusiasm can bring success, even when faced with overwhelming competition.
