Scottie Speech and Drama Advances Two to State

On Jan. 20, the Glasgow Speech and Drama team traveled to Culbertson for their Divisional Tournament. Eight members competed in four speech events. Thomas Sebastian and Jordan Billingsley competed in Impromptu, Reece Hunsley in Spontaneous Oral Interpretation, Maria Morris and Crystal Omara in Dramatic Oral Interpretation (DOI), and Jrake Gutow and Kyle Southland competed in Humorous Oral Interpretation. Seth Orth traveled with the team and attempted to compete in DOI as well, but unfortunately lost his voice and was unable to compete.

After three rounds, five of the eight team members competed in finals. Maria Morris placed 1st in Dramatic Oral Interpretation and Jordan Billingsley placed 6th in Impromptu. Thomas Sebastian, Reece Hunsley, and Jrake Gutow were all finalists.

The team looks forward to competing at State in Havre on Saturday, Jan. 28 and will be working hard all week to have a successful showing.

At this time, Billingsley and Morris are the only two that are guaranteed to compete, while Hunsley, Gutow and Sebastian will be attending as alternates in their events.

Coach Leech and Coach Flint are incredibly proud of the team and all the hard work they put into the season. Go Scotties!
