LeRoy Donald Johnson

LeRoy Donald Johnson, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.

He was born in Cartwright, N.D., on May 21, 1929, to Emil and Hilma (Erickson) Johnson, and was raised in Froid. He started working for the railroad in 1947 and retired in 1991. He was a proud Marine having served from 1949-1952.

He married Rose (Nelson) Johnson in 1965 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. From this union three daughters were born, Joey, Pam and LeAnne.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, T.J. Miller; two brothers, Gilman and Nonie Johnson; and one sister, Hazel Peters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose; three daughters, Joey Eastman and her husband, George, Pam Johnson, and LeAnne Donovan and her husband, Hank; a sister-in-law, Verna Johnson; his buddy, Bimbo; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including Korene Anderson and her husband, Andy, and Dale, Dean and Dallas Johnson.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, with full military honors followed by a reception at Pam Johnson's home at 507 10th St. North in Glasgow.
