VFW and American Legion Celebrate Glasgow Vets

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3107 and American Legion Post 41 hosted the annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Glasgow Civic Center on Nov. 11. The program took place at 10:30 a.m., with Art Widhalm, Commander VFW Post 3107, as the Master of Ceremonies. The celebration included music by the Glasgow High School Band playing patriotic arrangements such as the National Anthem and the Military Service Songs Medley. The EQ Singers performed a selection of pieces, including Tony Lane and David Lee's "Letters from Home" and "America the Beautiful."

The speaker was the Montana National Guard's SSG A.J. Etherington, head of recruiting here in Glasgow. His remarks focused on themes of sacrifice and gratitude, with an emphasis on our collective responsibility to "stand up for the weak" and lead significant and honorable lives here at home.
