Hallock Makes His Mark at Monster Match

Kyler Hallock has been wrestling since he was three years old when he started in the AAU program. Hallock is now 12 years old and bringing home hardware from some elite events.

On Nov. 5, Hallock participated in the Mile High Monster Match in Denver Colo. Also making the trip were fellow competitor Oden Hallock and coach Dana Hallock.

The elite tournament, hosted by Rocky Mountain Nationals (RMN), usually boasts around 1500 wrestlers and consists of 20 mats of competition.

Hallock wrestled in the 12U weight class at 122 pounds. With a record of 3-1 at the tournament, he earned an impressive second-place trophy and some serious bragging rights.

Hallock's mother, Jessica Nickels, describes him as "dedicated and motivated," and noted that he focuses on wrestling about nine months out of the year. With his hard work and dedication, Hallock is ranked sixth nationally by the RMN program.

Readers and fans will be able to watch Hallock on the mat as he will be wrestling both AAU and at the middle school level this season.
