Holocaust Survivor to Speak at GHS

Holocaust survivor Eva Mozes Kor will be speaking in Glasgow at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Glasgow High School. Eva has appeared to discuss history and her own story all over the world, including Germany, Israel and Poland.

In 1944, Eva and her family were forced into a cattle car packed with other Jewish prisoners and transported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. At age 10, Eva and her sister Miriam became part of a group of children used as human guinea pigs in genetic experiments under the direction of the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele.

Along with approximately 200 children, Eva and Miriam were found alive by the Soviet Army at the liberation of the camp on Jan. 27, 1945

Eva’s story is documented in the award-winning film Forgiving Dr. Mengele and the book Surviving the Angel of Death: The True Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz.

Eva will be signing copies after the event. The Cottonwood Inn has a room block saved under “Eva Kor” and is offering a special room rate of $90.00 plus tax to anyone traveling to attend the event. For more information, call 406-228-8213.
