Washington Man Charged In Valley County With Drug Offense

Stolen Merchandise Recovered

A 41-year old Lakewood, Washington man, Justin Hanson, has been charged in Valley County with criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and is being held in the Valley County jail.

The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) executed a traffic stop Sept. 5 on Highway 2 near Frazer for an illegal pass. The vehicle was a rental vehicle out of Washington state, and was driven by Hanson.

According to Valley County Sheriff Glen Meier, the MHP had indications during the stop that there may be drugs in the vehicle. A drug dog was deployed and signaled a positive hit on the rental. The vehicle was transported to the Valley County Detention Center where a search warrant was executed.

In addition to suspected meth and heroine, as well as drug paraphernalia, $500,000 worth of stolen goods were recovered, including jewelry, high-end sunglasses and watches, baseball cards, and various high end goods. The Valley County Sheriff’s Office indicated that some of the alleged stolen merchandise are from the Great Falls and Williston areas.

“We’re going to be turning over evidence to the appropriate jurisdiction,” said Meier. At press time, the Sheriffs Office indicated that the case is developing.
