Darlene Thiel Dolney

Darlene (Thiel) Dolney, 75, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016.

She was born Jan. 24, 1941, to Raymond and Lucy Thiel in Sidney, Mont. She attended and graduated from schools in Sidney. She attended college and graduated with an LPN degree.

On May 6, 1961, she married Ted Dolney. She worked as a nurse for about 20 years and then decided to change careers and opened the Eagle Cafe in Sidney. She also had a dress shop called Mode O Day. They they moved to Billings for a while and then to Opheim, where they operated a cafe for several years until they decided to move back to Billings to be closer to doctors.

She and Ted also loved to travel. They went to London, Portugal, Spain, Africa, Mexico and Hawaii. She also loved her three cats and collecting butterfly yard decorations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents, Raymond and Lucy; five brothers, Gordon, Gerald, Chuck, Chester and Stanley; two sisters, Shirley and Lois; and one son, Timothy Dolney.

Survivors include one daughter, Darla Miller of Billings; a son, Gyle Dolney and his wife Julie, of Sweet Home, Ore.; a son, Lonnie Dolney of Stanley, N.D.; grandchildren, Jeff Bosworth of Hillsboro, Ore, Brandon Miller of Billings and Lisa and Shane Dolney of Battle Mountain, Nev.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Mont.

In lieu of flowers, send donations in memory of Ted and Darlene Dolney to the Veterans' Clinic at 1775 Spring Creek Lane, Billings, MT 59102.
