Glasgow Golfers Drive Away With Hardware

Boys Grab First, Girls Take Second at Home, Malta

The Scottie golfers hosted 11 teams at Sunnyside Golf Course for the Glasgow Invitational on April 22.

With Oden Hallock leading the way, the Scottie boys claimed first place over the competition with a total score of 387. Hallock placed third overall with an 85, followed by Cody Ross with a 93 for sixth place overall.

Also contributing to the score for the varsity boys were: Blaine Myrick, 95; Max Carpenter, 102; Kaden Fossum, 107. JV boys: Jeremiah Wethern, 109; Merrick Eliason, 100; Garret Paju, 119; Jordan Billingsley, 116; Bridger Barnett, 131.

Finishing 12 points behind the Broadus girls, Glasgow placed second with a score of 454. Senior Amy Nelson once again led her team with a score of 105, taking sixth place overall. Also medaling was fellow senior Lauren Runningen with a ninth-place score of 112. Also contributing were: Lexi Pehlke, 126, Taylor Palm, 121, Heidi Moon, 127, and JV golfer Fallon Larsen, 135.

With a strong performance behind them, the Scottie golfers traveled to Malta on Saturday for another day of competition, with much the same results.

Glasgow boys placed first – just nine points ahead of Chinook. For the second day in a row, placing ninth, Hallock led the scoring with a 97. Ross put on some pressure and came in just behind Hallock in 10th place with a 99. Myrick finished with a 104, Carpenter with 100, and Fossum with 121.

With results similar to what they achieved in Glasgow, the Scottie girls placed second, 13 points behind Chinook.

Nelson medaled with a second-place finish of 103. Runningen scored 117, Pehlke 126, Palm 127, and Moon 132.

Coming up for the golfers are the Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, April 29, and the Harlem Invitational on Saturday, April 30.
