Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Lindeen files for Montana Secretary of State

Current Montana State Auditor and former legislator Monica Lindeen officially filed her candidacy for Montana Secretary of State today.

“I’m passionate about serving the people who call Montana home,” said Lindeen. “As your next Secretary of State, I will work to protect your voice, your business and your access to public lands.”

The Secretary of State serves as Montana’s chief elections officer, oversees the business registration process and is one of five members of the state’s Land Board which oversees Montana’s state lands. Lindeen says she will work relentlessly to ensure out-of-state corporations never have more power in our elections than Montanans who stand up and vote. She vowed that public lands will remain in public hands and businesses have the support they need to compete. Lindeen has been a member of Montana’s Land Board for over seven years, served in the Montana House of Representatives for four terms from 1999 through 2006, and was elected as Montana State Auditor in 2008 and was re-elected in 2012. Monica and her husband, David, raised their family in Huntley. They have a daughter, two sons and seven grandchildren and currently reside in Helena
