City Releases Grant Disbursement Figures

The City of Glasgow is currently overseeing the distribution of $697,044.63 in grants raised beginning in 2014. A little less than half the total amount ($333,167) is designated for use by a new drug court. According to Mayor Becky Erickson, “This court will be operating by the end of this month. It is an exciting time for implementation, as the Drug Court Committee has been planning and training for two years to see this court come to fruition.”

Other significant beneficiaries of grant monies include $223,482 for personnel (Misdemeanor Probation Officer, Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, Victim Specialist, and Youth Community Supervisor), and $140,395 for activities, equipment, supplies, etc.

The city is currently waiting on an update regarding an $18 million resiliency grant request to address Glasgow’s levy issues and a $2.75 million grant/loan package for the water system upgrade project.

Erickson adds, “I would like to thank our grant writer, Kathy Granger, and our grant administrator, Stacy Amundson, who is also City Clerk. The city of Glasgow would not be where we are without their expertise.”
