GHS Speech and Drama Grabs Second Place Speech Trophy

In preparation for Glasgow's Speech and Drama meet, senior Ethan Jamba practices his Serious Oral Interpretation (SOI) piece "The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe.

The Glasgow Speech and Drama invitational was held Saturday, Jan. 9 at GHS, and Glasgow placed second overall in speech.

The team dominated in the extemporaneous category with Eric Covall placing first, Thomas Sebastian placing second, and Andy Brandt placing third.

Also placing were: Seth Orth, fourth in dramatic oral interpretation; Jrake Gutow, fifth in humorous oral interpretation; Amber O'Mara, second – also in humorous oral interpretation.

In drama, Morgan Miller earned second place with her serious solo, and Mariah Holter claimed first place in pantomime.

Speech and Drama will be traveling to Chinook this weekend for their last regular meet before divisionals.
