Prairie Symphonette Resumes Rehearsals

Northeast Montana's Prairie Symphonette had a successful Christmas Concert in Scobey on Sunday, Dec. 13, with an audience who also participated in singing with one of the numbers. This amateur orchestra has participants from the entire region ranging from Glasgow, Froid, Nashua, Fort Peck, Opheim and communities in-between, including those residing in Scobey.

The orchestra is a volunteer organization founded in 1977 with the assistance of Jack Reiner. Currently the principal conductor is Matt Goettle of Scobey High School with assistance provided by Brad Persinger of Glasgow Schools and Russell Johnson of Frontier School.

A Spring Concert is planned for Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Scobey. Rehearsals begin on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. This concert will also have assistance from student members of the Minot Symphony. All skill level performers are invited to join.
