Wheatgrass Artist of the Month: Carol Ann Oster

Carol Ann Oster, Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery’s Artist of the Month, is well-known in Valley County for her exquisite art work. Carol Ann has spent all of her life living in Eastern Montana. The goal she sets for her art is to express the beauty of the Montana prairies; specifically Eastern Montana. This includes the people, animals, vegetation, and natural and manmade structures.

This expression is made through the use of a variety of mediums on paper including watercolor, pastel, ink and pencil.

During the month of December, Carol will be showcasing her 3-dimensional wheat straw sculptures.

Her art pieces are formed by making a pulp from wheat straw harvested from her own fields. The pulp is then pressed into original forms created by Carol Ann. Carol then frames them herself using 3- layered matting and complimentary frames. She also has the sculptures available as Christmas ornaments.
