Evelyn Carol Watterud

Evelyn Carol Watterud, 98, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.

She was born to Axel and Hilda (Dahl) Watterud on Aug. 29, 1917, in Opheim, Mont. She had six brothers, Leonard, Lester, Rudy, Myron, Donald and Glenn. She was the oldest of three girls. Her sisters were Eleanor and Lorraine. When her mother became ill, the family moved to Glasgow and Evelyn took good care of her mother until her passing.

She moved out on her own after her mother's death and remained independent and lived alone until her last days. She loved, fed and took good care of stray animals that came around her yard. She loved her family and enjoyed her life.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister and a brother-in-law.

Survivors include her loving sister, Eleanor Kolstad, of Glasgow; two sisters-in-law, Elona, of Glasgow, and Ruth of Whitefish; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. at the Bell Mortuary in Glasgow with burial following at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.
