Young Hunters at Work

The Courier Wants Your Photo!

Tami Burke / For the Courier

Nik Burke, 12, hunted upland birds for the first time as a legal hunter in south Valley County on the Desert Coulée Ranch (Block Management Area). He outshot his dad, Kelly Burke, three to one on Opening Day after school and brought home a sharp-tailed grouse dinner.

Every Opening Day brings a new generation of eager hunters to the field. Whether you are a new apprentice hunter or a young veteran, we want to showcase your hard work in the Courier. Submit your hunting photo along with a short story to courier@nemont.net by noon on Mondays, and we'll try to get it into the sports pages. Don't forget to include your name, age, and the when/where/how of your trip.
