Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Carol Lee DuBeau

On Friday, Aug 21, 2015, Carol Lee (Schroeder) Marsh DuBeau, 72, passed away at the Riverton Hospital in Riverton, Wyo., with her family at her side.

She was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Rueben and Ovidia (Pedersen) Schroeder. When she was 2 years old, the family moved to the Reserve, Mont., area. At the age of 5 the family moved to Chester. They were only in Chester a short time before moving back to Reserve where she went to first and second grade. She went to school in Plentywood for the third through seventh grades, then she went to school in Westby for her eighth and ninth grades. She received her GED as an adult while living in California.

After the ninth grade, she went to live with her uncle Merlin and aunt Beverly in Shelby. That is where she met Darryl Marsh and they were married in Nov. 1958. To this marriage three children were born. They are LaNet, Darryl (Butch) and Darrylynn. In January 1963, she was a widow. She met William (Punk) DuBeau later that year and they were married in Nov 1965. To this marriage two boys were born, Bill and Matt.

They then raised five children west of Glasgow in the Tampico area. She was a stay-at-home mom who would have fresh hot baked goods every day when the kids came home from school. What a yummy treat (Mom).

She loved to play pinochle with friends and neighbors. It was almost an every weekend event. Her favorite thing to do was to have coffee and visit with her children, grandchildren, family members and friends. She also enjoyed showing her sheep at the fair. When the kids were in high school, she worked at the Glasgow Livestock Yards for a few years before moving from Glasgow in 1985. She and Punk traveled where his work would take them, to Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, California, Nebraska or Wyoming, and that is where they retired. She moved to Shoshoni, Wyo., about four years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben Schroeder and Ovidia Metvedt; two brothers, Gary Schroeder and Terry Metvedt; a stepfather, Gus Metvedt, who she thought the world of.

Survivors include Punk, her husband of 50 years; five children, LaNet Lien and her husband, Everett, Darryl "Butch" Marsh and his wife, Carrie, all of Casper, and Darrylynn Fabrizius and her husband, Jim, of Riverton, Bill DuBeau and his wife, Janell, of Moorcroft, Wyo., and Matthew DuBeau and his wife, Dawn, of Shoshoni; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ervin Schroeder and his wife, Judy, of Columbia Falls, Cherylen McLaurin of Glasgow, and Joy Johnson of Velva, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation has taken place by Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. Services will be at a later date.

She is loved and will be deeply missed by all lives she touched.

My Father called, and, I'm sorry I had to leave.

It's okay. I know you love me when you grieve.

I'm now standing in glory with God, and that, you must believe.

There will be times when you'll wish I was back, but, just remember this:

I'm only in the other room,

The one my Master made for me.

I'm only in the other room,

That space in your hearts, you saved, just for me.

I'm only in the other room,

I love you each, as love should be.

There'll come a time, when we'll reunite,

It's in the other room.
