Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

June Corrine Ziemke Farr

June Corrine (Leach) Ziemke Farr will be interred at the Greybull Cemetery in Greybull, Wyo., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at a family service. Anyone who knew her is welcome to share memories, food and fellowship at a luncheon following at the Greybull Elk's Club.

She was born in Tracy, Minn., June 28, 1918, to Winnie (Olsen) Leach and John Beatty Leach. Her parents later divorced and her mother remarried Ernest Ziemke, a farmer, who June always considered her father. After this second marriage, she became the big sister to three half-sisters, Elaine, Dorothy and Donna. The four girls were very close and stayed in touch throughout their lives. She graduated from high school in Tracy and went to college in Minneapolis, earning her associates degree in accounting.

On Nov. 14, 1937, she married Floyd F. Farr in Tracy and farmed there for several years. They later moved to Wyoming in the early 1940s where she worked at the College Inn Cafe they owned. She and Floyd had two children, Sharon, born in Minnesota, and Kevin, born in Wyoming. She also worked at Greybull Stockyards as an accountant for many years and kept books for the Sinclair gas station. She was also a member of the Greybull Elks Club.

She was widowed in 1972 and moved to Bozeman to live near Sharon. While in Bozeman, she worked as a house mother for the Lambada Chi fraternity at MSU for several years. In 1984, she began working at the front desk of the Continental Motor Inn in Bozeman until she retired at the age of 92.

She lived near, and later with, Sharon Whittmyer and her husband, Bob, from 1972 until 2011, when she moved to Glasgow where she lived with Kevin and his wife, Hope, until an apartment became available at Nemont Manor. In 2012 she moved to Valley View Home, where she was a cherished resident until her death Aug. 17, 2015.

She was a friend to everyone she met and she was always willing and able to help, usually putting the needs of a friend or loved one before herself. She always had a smile on her face and never let life get her down. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend and will long be remembered and missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd F. Farr; two sisters, Donna Greene and Elaine Andrews; and a son-in-law, Bob Whittmyer.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Joosten of Minneapolis, Minn .; two children, Kevin Farr of Glasgow and Sharon Whittmyer of Bozeman; six grandchildren, Bruce Dunning, Brian Dunning, Sherri Dunning and Deb Smith, all of Belgrade, Jackson Farr and Keefe Farr of Glasgow; 15 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
