WEDNESDAY – AUG. 12

1-4 p.m. - MT Veteran Affairs service officers at Glasgow VA Clinic (NEW LOCATION). If applying for benefits, bring discharge paper work (DD214). Veteran service officers will visit nursing homes and assisted living centers by appointment only. Call 406-265-4225.

THURSDAY – AUG. 13

3 p.m. - The Valley County Transit Board will meet at the Valley County Transit office (use the back door/east entrance).

7 p.m. - A mandatory parent meeting in the GHS Auditorium for parents/guardians of students in grades 6-12 planning to participate in extra-curricular activities during the 2015-16 school year.

MFWP Hunter Ed course dates set for the Glasgow area, Aug. 14-16. This will be the last hunter ed class offered in the Glasgow area for this year’s hunting season. To be eligible to hunt and be fully certified during the 2015 season, hunters must be 12 years old by Jan. 16, 2016. Class will be held in the Quonset building at the FWP headquarters in Glasgow from 4:30-9 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from 8-10 a.m. on Sunday.

Fort Peck Lake Sailing Regatta begins Friday with a racing seminar at the Fort Peck Marina.

“DISNEY’S TARZAN” at Fort Peck Summer Theatre. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 4 p.m. For individual tickets or reservations, call 526-9943.

SATURDAY – AUG. 15

11 a.m. - Village Covenant Owners meet at St. Marie Chapel (past town hall). More info, 230-1283.

MONDAY – AUG. 17

First day of school in Hinsdale.

TUESDAY – AUG. 18

8 a.m. - The Fort Peck Senior Citizens Hwy. Clean-up. Meet at the Fish Hatchery. The Seniors have some leather gloves and grabbers. If you have your own gloves and would like to bring them, do so. Bags, safety vests and bottled water will be provided. Following the clean-up, they will have a potluck pancake brunch. Pancakes and ham will be provided. Bring any other breakfast/brunch items that will complement this, such as juice, fruit, eggs. This clean-up/brunch is open to the general public — anyone who would like to help.

2-5:45 p.m. - Valley County Health Department’s last “Back to School” vaccination clinic. Please call 228-6261 to find out your child’s immunization status.

4-6 p.m. - A band instrument display at Glasgow Middle School in the Music Room. Beginning band lessons start Monday, Aug. 24, through Thursday, Aug. 27, in the Glasgow Middle School Music Room for any 6th grade students who will be in band this fall.

WEDNESDAY – AUG. 19

Nashua School begins their 2015-2016 year.

6-9 p.m. - State wildlife officials will host a public hearing in Malta at the Malta High School; S. 9th St. W., to discuss and take comments on a draft environmental impact statement for bison conservation and management in Montana.
